In my latest blog post, I explored the potential application of calcitonin in veterinary medicine. Calcitonin, a hormone known for its role in regulating calcium levels in the human body, has shown promise in treating various conditions in animals. For example, researchers are investigating its use in managing osteoarthritis pain in dogs and treating hypercalcemia in cats. Additionally, calcitonin could potentially aid in bone healing and even prevent bone loss in animals with chronic kidney disease.
